Our garden is a valued and integral part of daily nursery life, offering children regular access to outdoor learning, fresh air, and physical activity. The space is carefully planned to support all areas of the EYFS through hands‑on, play‑based experiences.

The garden provides opportunities for children to:

  • Develop gross motor skills through climbing, balancing, running, and active play
  • Explore nature and the natural world, observing seasonal changes and wildlife
  • Build confidence, independence, and resilience through open‑ended outdoor activities
  • Engage in imaginative play, creativity, and problem‑solving

Outdoor learning is inclusive and accessible to all children. Activities are adapted to meet individual needs and interests, and staff actively engage with children to extend learning and encourage curiosity. Time spent outdoors supports children’s wellbeing, physical health, and emotional development.
